SHOWCASE YOUR IDEAS

Ready to fight in the Gladiator's arena? Register your team to participate in shaping your idea into a working prototype. May the best idea win!

LAST DAY FOR REGISTRATION: 11.3.20, 0900 hrs

Know this..

  1. Register your team, upload your ideas. The team must comprise 3-4 members - 1 each from Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or allied specializations (like Electronics, Info. Science, Mechatronics etc).  All team members may be from the same or different colleges. The team can be a mix of both Bachelors and Masters student as well.

  2. Eligibility: Prefinal and Final year Engineering (Bachelors and Masters students), who are expected to pass out in 2020 and 2021.

  3. Develop a concept, put your ideas in words as an abstract and to prove this, show us your drawings. Upload them as PDFs only, in the registration page. A jury will decide the novelty of your ideas and send an intimation. Please use the given template only. Click on the word icon for the template.

  4. Selected teams will be notified via email, they have to present for 10 mins to the jury on March 19th. Selected teams will pay Rs. 500 by cash (against receipt) in CMTI on the day of the presentation. This is non-refundable.

  5. After presentations, only a few teams will be selected (about 20 teams) who will have to develop a prototype in an all-nighter competition. Mentors will be allocated to each team. Basic sensors, electronics or other mechanical elements required can be brought by the participants. However, only the final teams selected after presentation shall be reimbursed for the items bought up to a capped limit of Rs. 2000. (Invoices must be provided mandatorily to claim the same). Remember, reimbursement of costs towards prototype is only for the students who get selected for the final all-nighter competition.

  6. Further guidelines for the next set after selection will be notified during the day of the presentation. 

  7. Finally, there shall be one winner with two runner-ups.

Boring, but important stuff..

  1. Do not come with a built model to the competition. The team shall be instantly disqualified. Remember, although a mentor is assigned to your team, they shall also monitor you for misconduct.

  2. Misconduct of any kind which brings harm to the machinery or reputation of any individual/organisation present in the clinic shall not be tolerated and the entire team shall be instantly disqualified.

  3. The concept cannot be plagiarised from any articles, patents or any existing prototype design.

More yada yada we expect you to follow..

  1. Bring your laptops for your project-related activities. Get your Internet dongles too. Institute has a restriction on Wifi. Standalone Digital Cameras not permitted.

  2. Dress code for all 3 days: Business Casuals (If you are unsure of this term, google it!)

  3. Listen to your mentors.

  4. Do not loiter in the arena, parts of CMTI are restricted. (Although we won't shoot you down, avoid it)

  5. Keep your work area neat and dump waste in designated bins.

  6. Inside the venue, you are permitted to take photos/videos on your cell phones of only your project work, which can be added in the final jury presentations.

  7. Teams selected for the final round are expected to report at CMTI at 0900 hrs on the 2nd day and are expected to stay until the competition finishes the next day.

  8. Take care of your belongings. CMTI is not responsible for the same.
